2022 RTIH Innovation Awards winner 3D Cloud by Marxent announces Series D funding round

US-based 3D Cloud by Marxent, a 3D product experience platform for furniture and home improvement retailers, has raised $7.5 million in a Series D round of funding.

This was led by Tampa-based entrepreneur and board member Arnie Bellini with additional support from Lee Arnold, Executive Chair at Colliers International Florida and a long-time investor in the company.

The round increases 3D Cloud by Marxent’s valuation to over $135 million. It has raised $42 million in total to date.

3D Cloud by Marxent has plans to open its 3D Cloud platform directly to independent interior designers and pros with innovations like artificial intelligence powered design automation, LiDAR room scanning integration, and self-service.

"With the Series D funding, we’ll be able to fast-track the development of our AI and design automation capabilities," says Beck Besecker, CEO and Co-founder at 3D Cloud by Marxent.

"Interior and outdoor design professionals are looking for modern, browser-based, and collaborative solutions and will love designing with 3D Cloud applications.”

“Our goal is to create easy to use tools that cater to the needs of homeowners, store associates, and design professionals alike. AI is the key to achieving this vision."

A number of enterprise retailers and brands are using the 3D Cloud platform.

The tech enables furniture, kitchen, bath, and decking retailers and manufacturers to create immersive 3D product configuration, 3D room planning, and other 3D product experiences.

"The company has exceptional leadership, a massive product catalogue, top brands and retailers, and a compelling vision for bringing this tech to new audiences," says Bellini.

“3D Cloud by Marxent’s solutions drive both topline growth and bottomline savings for retailers regardless of economic conditions. I’m excited to continue to support the team and their vision.”

“AI will drastically simplify aspects of the design process for independent design pros and enterprise retailers alike,” says Arnold.

"3D commerce combined with AI is clearly the next frontier in furniture and home improvement retail, and 3D Cloud by Marxent is at the forefront.”

2022 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

3D Cloud by Marxent emerged victorious at the 2022 RTIH Innovation Awards, playing a key part in B&Q picking up the Most Innovative UK Retailer gong.

Our 2022 winners were revealed at a sold out event in central London on Tuesday, 6th December.

B&Q is at the forefront of cutting-edge 3D visualisation, planning, and design technology. In 2022, it announced the largest and most comprehensive roll-out of 3D home improvement design experiences in the market today.

The retailer didn’t just deploy an app or service. It designed and deployed an entire 3D strategy that aligns with changing consumer behaviour.

It lays claim to being the first retailer to move away from an incumbent software solution that the industry has been using since the 1980s to a single SaaS-based kitchen, bathroom and bedroom/storage design platform for consumers and stores alike.

The initiative also includes a 3D kitchen, bathroom, and storage planner with virtual reality capabilities in addition to a series of mobile 3D product configurators for other products.

RTIH Editor, Scott Thompson, said: “Innovation and technology play a critical role in the success of the retail sector, so it is great to recognise standout examples through our awards.”

“Thanks to all those who entered the 2022 event. We received a record number of submissions and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.”

“Congratulations to our 2022 retail technology hall of fame entrants.”
