The future of fast delivery? Domino’s delivers pizza by jetpack as Elton John headlines Glastonbury Festival
Domino’s is laying claim to a world first – a pizza delivered by jet pack.
The company partnered with Gravity Industries to mark this year’s Glastonbury Festival, which sees Elton John (he of Rocket Man fame, get it?) headline the Pyramid Stage on Sunday.
An employee took off from a nearby Domino’s store and delivered food to festival goers.

Sam Wilson of Domino’s said: “When we realised pitching up to serve slices inside the festival was impossible, we took inspiration from this year’s headliner to launch our own rapid delivery trial – it was a bit of a no brainer.”
“Every year we see huge numbers of random requests from festival goers trying to sneak pizza into the party.”
“So, this year we wanted to take a giant step towards and trial our very own rocket man service to help hungry campers get a slice of sky high satisfaction in the future.“
A spokesperson for Gravity Industries adds: “Keeping pizza piping hot using the jet suit is definitely an unusual utilisation of our tech and pizza isn’t in our normal flight plan.”
“But being able to exceed the average delivery time by flying through the Somerset fields and feed campers with the pizza delivery experts certainly shows the future of fast delivery service.”
Pinpoint Delivery
Domino’s Pizza is introducing Pinpoint Delivery in the US, a new technology that allows customers to receive a delivery in such places as parks, baseball fields and beaches, just in time for the start of summer.
Customers with the Domino’s app can select the service, drop a pin on the map and get pizza delivered pretty much anywhere, the retailer says.
“We’re proud to be the first quick service restaurant brand in the US to deliver food to customers with the drop of a pin,” says Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s Senior Vice President – Chief Digital Officer.
“We’re always striving to make customers’ experiences even better and more convenient, and Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery does exactly that.”
