American fried chicken giant Popeyes set to open Bromley store as UK growth continues apace

Popeyes UK will this week open a new store in Bromley, South East London.

This follows a launch on nearby Eltham high street during August, and is one of 45 new restaurants across the country in 2025.

The fried chicken chain opened 33 UK locations in 2024 and recorded total sales of more than £118 million.

The Bromley store is located at 12-13 Market Square, close to The Glades shopping centre. RTIH has contacted Popeyes UK to confirm the exact opening date and will update this article as soon as we receive a response.

We passed by this morning and fit out (including self-service kiosks) had been completed with staff training in progress, so safe to say that it will be serving the good people of Bromley in the very near future.

Sona

Earlier this year, we reported that Popeyes UK was rolling out Sona's AI powered workforce management solution (Forecasting, Productivity, Auto-Scheduling, HR and Payroll Bureau) across its estate in the UK and soon Ireland.

In a LinkedIn post, Sona's Steffen Wulff Petersen said: "It’s been amazing to get to know the hugely ambitious and fast moving team at Popeyes UK - it was an instant cultural fit with our team."

"Neil Williamson (COO) and his team were looking for the next generation of WFM to help drive the growth of the business and match their high bar for modern technology. Thank you for the trust Neil and we look forward to a great partnership."

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2025 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2025 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Thursday, 29th January. This will kick off with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room.
