Six stand out retail tech funding rounds in 2019

RTIH rounds up the retail technology startups who have been making waves with major investments.

1. Beekeeper

Beekeeper has closed a $45 million Series B funding round.

This was co-led by Thayer Ventures and Swisscanto Invest by Zürcher Kantonalbank, with participation from prior investors including Atomico, Alpana Ventures, Edenred Capital Partners, Fyrfly, Hammer Team, investiere, HighSage Ventures, Keen Venture Partners, Samsung NEXT, Swiss Post and Swisscom.

2. TouchBistro

TouchBistro has raised CDN$158 million in a Series E round.

3. Lookiero

Lookiero has closed a $19 million funding round led by MMC Ventures and also including existing investor All Iron Ventures, and new investors Bonsai Partners, 10x and Santander Smart.

4. MishiPay

Mobile self-checkout startup MishiPay has completed a Series A funding round of £3.5 million, involving American Express Ventures, Nauta Capital and United Ventures.

5. Ometria

UK-based AI-powered customer marketing startup, Ometria, has raised $21 million in a Series B funding round led by Octopus Ventures and also including existing investors Sonae IM, Summit Action, Samos and Adjuvo.

6. Everledger

Blockchain platform startup Everledger has closed a $20 million Series A funding round. This was led by Tencent Holdings, with Graphene Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Rakuten, Fidelity and Vickers Venture Partners also participating.
