Five retailers that are so innovative right now
These retailers are leading the way in providing technology that is one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.
1. The Hut Group
Online retailer The Hut Group has acquired a 12,000 sq. ft. ground floor and basement space within the 100 King Street building in Manchester city centre. It will convert the former Jamie’s Italian restaurant site into a ‘World of The Hut Group’ retail and experiential marketing space, designed to showcase its health and beauty brands.
2. Rite Aid
Amazon has announced the US debut of Counter, which enables the e-commerce giant’s customers to pick up orders via a network of partner retailers.
This first launched in the UK with Next and in Italy with Giunti Al Punto Librerie, Fermopoint and SisalPay stores. It has now gone live in more than 100 Rite Aid stores in the US. By the end of the year, the service will be available across 1,500 of the retailer’s locations.
3. 7-Eleven
7-Eleven customers can now use the retailer’s 7NOW smartphone app to get products delivered to public places, including parks and beaches.
4. Domino’s Pizza
Domino's Pizza and Nuro are partnering on an autonomous pizza delivery initiative in Houston.
5. Walmart
Walmart China is tracking food through its supply chain with VeChain’s Thor blockchain.
