Four…Following a pitch day for its retail innovation programme, JLAB, the John Lewis Partnership has selected four businesses to help it reduce the impact of plastic waste: CupClub, Cuantec, RePack and Replenish.

$15…Following criticism from the likes of Senator Bernie Sanders about its treatment of warehouse workers, Amazon has announced an increase in its minimum wage to $15 for all full-time, part-time, temporary (including those hired by agencies), and seasonal employees across the US, effective 1st November. 

Four in five…New research from Klarna and Censuswide shows that half of fashion retailers want to invest in the likes of augmented reality and virtual reality, even though four in five shoppers wouldn’t be interested in using it.

99David Beckham’s House 99 male grooming brand has opened a shop on Alibaba’s Tmall site.

Five…LinkedIn has included Skinnydip London in its 25 most sought after startups in the UK listicle.

The venture nabbed the number five spot, with LinkedIn observing that its “quirky phone cases and snazzy bags — fans include Kylie Jenner and Miley Cyrus — have proved a rare positive story for British retail. Brothers James and Richard Gold and their schoolfriend Lewis Blitz launched the brand in 2011 and now have 15 Skinnydip stores and are in over 250 concessions worldwide.” 

90JDA Software is working with Lavazza as part of its global supply chain revamp. The Italian coffee brand has selected several JDA solutions including Enterprise Supply Planning and Sequencing across the 90 countries in which it operates.

Six…M&S has launched a scan and pay service, Mobile, Pay, Go, which will be available for customers in six London stores ahead of Christmas.
