Taylor Swift heads up Alibaba 11.11 event

Taylor Swift is set to perform at Alibaba’s 11.11 Countdown Gala, a live show that will take place in the hours leading up to the world’s biggest shopping day of the year.

Other celebrities appearing at Shanghai’s Mercedes Benz Arena will include G.E.M., Hua Chenyu, Kana Hanazawa, Ju Jingyi, Li Ronghao, Luo Yunxi, Jackson Yee, Zhang Jie and Zhang Yixing.

This year will be the 11th 11.11 (aka Singles’ Day) event, with 500 million-plus users expected to participate, around 100 million more than last year. Last year’s gross merchandise volume hit $30.8 billion.
