Carrefour and Nestlé apply blockchain tech to infant nutrition
Carrefour and Nestlé are tapping IBM’s Food Trust blockchain platform to track the supply chain of the GUIGOZ Bio 2 and 3 infant milk range.
Nestlé and Carrefour previously worked on a pilot applying blockchain technology to the Mousline instant mashed potato product. According to a press release, for the latest initiative, “Carrefour provided its expertise as a pioneer of consumer-centred blockchain technology, and Nestlé, in addition to sharing supply and production data for GUIGOZ BIO 2 and 3 products, contributed its experience as a founding member of the IBM Food Trust consortium”.
Shoppers will be able to access information by scanning QR codes with their smartphones.
