jisp moves to address jispGO enabled store concerns

Frictionless shopping startup jisp recently launched an introductory video about its jispGO solution, which taps NFC stickers and the company’s tap&go app.

Since releasing the video, it says that it has received “a large amount of worry from the public in regard to retail employees losing their jobs. People are feeling uneasy that, as more and more technology is being introduced into stores, there will be no need for humans to play a part.”

The venture has therefore put together a series of answers to FAQs. jispGO won’t put people out of jobs, it insists. “One of the benefits of a jispGO enabled store is freeing up the staff originally on checkouts to help out on the shopfloor, not to replace them. We understand that one size doesn’t fit all, that’s why jispGO is completely adaptable to the needs of each and every retailer,” it says in a blog post.

It continues: “Our technology isn’t putting a stop to traditional methods of shopping, instead a retailer can choose to keep their current systems in place while still incorporating jispGO into the store. For example, those who prefer to visit a cashier at the checkouts can do so, while those who want a quick dash in and out using our technology are also able to without a retailer having to make structural alterations.”
