Burger King green lights Bitcoin payments in Venezuela
Burger King has started Bitcoin payments in the first of 40 stores in Venezuela.
A tweet confirmed that a branch in the Sambil area of Caracas now accepts the cryptocurrency, along with altcoins Ether, Litecoin, Binance Coin and Dash and stablecoin Tether.
The other 39 locations will follow suit this year, according to a blog post from Dash. Burger King is leveraging Cryptobuyer’s platform to provide Dash as its pilot crypto payment method in the country.
“Dash usage continues growing at a rapid rate in Venezuela, as it provides an alternative that is a more reliable payment method and store of value,” says Ryan Taylor, Dash Core Group CEO. “We are happy to collaborate with Cryptobuyer to keep growing the Dash ecosystem and serve Burger King and its customers.”
