US startup Grabango brings in new VP of HR

Grabango, a provider of checkout-free technology provider to bricks and mortar retailers, has announced the appointment of Saralynn Malott as VP of Human Resources.

“Saralynn has great experience with scaling technology companies while providing opportunities for employees to learn new skills and take on professional challenges,” says Will Glaser, Founder and CEO, Grabango. “With her leadership, we will grow our A+ team to scale the business.”

“I am excited to join Grabango at such an important time,” says Malott, who was previously Head of People at TaskRabbit. “HR is beyond benefits and pay. It’s about creating a productive work environment with a strong company culture and positive team energy. When people feel engaged and valued, the business flourishes.”

Grabango has tripled its workforce since emerging from stealth mode in January 2019. The plan is to double in size by the end of 2020. The startup says it has signed “four major US store chains that generate billions of dollars in revenue, serve more than 600 million shopper visits per year and cover a combined 29 million square feet of floor space”.

It has worked with Giant Eagle and is currently in discussions with “several top-tier US-based and international grocers for its patented checkout-free technology”.
