Domino’s Pizza launches contact free delivery amid coronavirus pandemic

Domino's Pizza is this week introducing a contact free delivery service across all its UK and Ireland stores.

This comes at no additional charge and is in response to some customers wishing to limit physical contact during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In an email to customers, CEO David Wild says: “You can select a contact free delivery at the checkout on our app or website when placing your order. Your driver will call you when they arrive to agree where you want your food left.”

“Once the order has been placed in the agreed location, the driver will stay at least two meters away while you collect your order. To ensure the service is truly contact free, all contact free delivery orders must be pre-paid online or over the phone.”

Pie Pass

Last month, Domino’s rolled out new Pie Pass technology, allowing customers who order and pay online or via its app to skip queues and grab their orders.

When customers arrive in the parking lot and are about to enter the store, they can check in on the Domino’s Tracker or order confirmation page, which will give store team members a head start on making sure the food is ready to go.

“We know that carryout customers value speed and simplicity, and that is exactly what they’ll receive with Pie Pass,” said Dennis Maloney, Domino’s Senior VP and Chief Innovation Officer.

“Gone are the days of waiting for your carryout order – now when customers arrive at the store, they’ll be greeted by name on our digital signage and handed their order. It’s the ultimate VIP carryout experience where customers don’t have to be a regular customer to be treated like one.”
