Six companies deploying innovative retail technologies

These retailers and brands are leading the way in providing technology and experiences that are one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. Ted Baker

Ted Baker will launch its first ever digital pop-up shop on 1st May. Ted’s Bazaar will offer limited edition designs with 100% of profits going to local communities.

2. Tesco

Tesco’s Tesco Pay+ mobile payment service has crossed one million sign ups.

3. Amazon

Amazon is planning to launch an Ultra Fast Fresh grocery delivery service in the UK.

According to a report by Reuters, this could be available to some 40% of UK households by the end of the year. The project is being led by UK country manager, Amazon Fresh and Prime Now, Russell Jones.

4. Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s has selected Blue Yonder’s Luminate platform for a supply chain transformation project.

The grocery giant is extending its Blue Yonder solutions footprint, with capabilities now including AI-powered demand forecasting and replenishment, digital control tower, space management, macro space planning, range management, warehouse management, labour management and yard management. 

5. Rakuten

Rakuten has joined the For Good Causes charitable giving platform.  

This unites brands and retailers with more than 20,000 charities, enabling consumers to donate their loyalty and reward points to causes that are close to their heart. 

6. McDonald’s

McDonald’s has gone live with a family entertainment hub as the coronavirus lockdown continues in the UK.

“From creative activities to interactive play, board games to eBooks, plus football skills videos to help keep your kids active, there’s hours of fun to entertain the whole family,” the fast food giant says.
