Eight stand out retail technology funding rounds
RTIH rounds up the retail technology ventures who have been making waves with major investments.
1. Shopic
Shopic, a computer vision startup providing check-out free systems to grocery retailers, has closed a $7.6 million Series A funding round.
This was led by IBI Tech Fund and also included existing investor Entrée Capital. The company will use the funds to expand its deployments into existing and new grocery retailers in the US and Europe, while also investing further in research and development which is based in Israel.
2. Tapcart
Mobile commerce venture Tapcart has closed a $10 million Series A funding round.
The cash will be used to accelerate adoption of its platform, which has been used to create mobile apps for such Shopify Plus brands as Fashion Nova, Chubbies and Urban Planet.
3. Brytlyt
Data analytics and visualisation technology provider, Brytlyt, has raised $4 million in Series A funding from Amadeus Capital Partners and Finch Capital.
4. Contentsquare
Digital experience analytics venture Contentsquare has announced a $190 million Series D funding round, bringing total funding to date to $310 million.
5. Scandit
Swiss mobile computer vision and augmented reality solutions specialist, Scandit, has picked up $80 million in a Series C round led by G2VP, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm of former Kleiner Perkins partners.
6. Bluecore
Retail marketing tech venture Bluecore has pulled in $50 million.
The Series D round involved existing investors Georgian Partners, FirstMark and Norwest. The company has raised $110 million to date.
7. Otrium
Online fashion marketplace Otrium has raised €24 million
The Series B round was led by Eight Roads Ventures, which is also an investor in Alibaba, Treatwell and Made.com. Existing backers Index Ventures and Hans Veldhuizen also participated.
8. Poplar
Augmented reality startup Poplar has closed a $2.1 million seed investment round led by Fuel Ventures.
This also involved Haatch Ventures, Ascension Ventures and Super Ventures. The venture has now raised $2.9 million in total funding.
