Marks and Spencer enters Guinness World Records with Sparks Live event
M&S has broken the Guinness World Record for most tickets booked for an online cooking tutorial.
The retailer achieved this at last week's Sparks Live Cookalong featuring resident chef Chris Baber, with 4,000+ people getting involved.
Never the Same Again
Sparks Live events are for those who have signed up to the M&S Sparks loyalty scheme.
Last year, it wrote to its seven million members to let them know the initiative was going ‘digital first’.
This was part of the Never the Same Again programme, which has also seen M&S announce the first batch of third-party fashion brands that will be sold through its website.
It also said its Marble Arch store (one of its largest locations in London) would be redeveloped, with the upper floors converted to office space.
The retailer’s bricks and mortar popularity has fallen sharply in recent years, with critics accusing its stores of being drab and outdated, while the coronavirus pandemic has seen many customers move online.
