 Grubhub and Yandex Self-Driving Group are rolling out food delivery via Yandex’s robots at The Ohio State University (OSU).

The two companies announced a tie up in July and this is the first US college campus to go live with their service.

Amazon veteran Devesh Mishra joins Deliveroo as Chief Product and Technology Officer

Deliveroo has announced the appointment of Devesh Mishra as Chief Product and Technology Officer.

He joins from Amazon, where he has spent the past 16 years.

Most recently, Mishra was Vice President, Global Supply Chain at the e-commerce giant, overseeing a team of thousands made up of engineers, data scientists and product managers, operating a supply chain spanning 185 markets. 

Before that, he was Director for Amazon’s WW Inventory Buying and Sourcing, where he was responsible for over 200 product lines in nine countries, supporting +$40 billion of revenue.

Joybird launches ‘Inspired by Pinterest Trends’ on Marxent 3D Space Planner

Marxent has partnered with Joybird to bring ‘Inspired by Pinterest Trends’ to the online furniture retailer’s 3D Space Planner. 

This comes as part of Joybird’s larger partnership with Pinterest, while Marxent says that its 3D Cloud powered 3D Space Planner provides users with the only tool that features content inspired directly by the social media platform.

The new feature allows shoppers to browse photos that reflect current Pinterest Trends data within the Joybird 3D Space Planner tool, then customise the scene in 3D to reflect their real life floorplan, without searching through catalogues or product pages to find the look that inspired them.

Valtech research reveals the tech Brits use to avoid physical retail

New research from Valtech suggests that UK shoppers are increasingly open to innovative digital technologies designed to help them browse and buy from the safety of their homes. 

The company surveyed over 1,000 Brits and found that 64% are still attempting to avoid the high street due to ongoing concerns around Covid-19. 

Post Office customers can now collect online parcels with EasyID app

It is now possible to collect parcels and letters from Post Offices using an app on your phone to show your ID, instead of having to bring a document such as a passport or driving licence.
