Former Gophr exec Patrick Eve joins last mile delivery platform Nash
Last mile delivery specialist Nash has appointed Patrick Eve as Head of UK - Sales.
In a LinkedIn post, Eve said: “New beginnings! I am really excited to start my new role at Nash. I will be launching its UK operations after a very successful launch in the US amd Canada 18 months ago.”
He added: “Nash is already live in over 95 cities in the US, Canada and Australia with more than 200 carrier partners available on the platform, helping businesses of all types to offer local and reliable same-day delivery services to their customers.
“Thanks to Co-fouder and CEO Mahmoud Ghulman and all the team for the warm welcome and I am looking forward to getting started!”
Funding round
In July, Nash raised $20 million in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, with support from Y Combinator, Kevin Novak’s Rackhouse Venture Capital, 640 Oxford Ventures, and other players across the tech and supply chain space.
This brought its total funding to $27.8 million, and came on the heels of a $7.8 million seed round that was led by Andreessen Horowitz in late 2021.
Andrew Chen, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, said: “We invested in Nash because their unique model can be broadly applied to literally every vertical.”
“Whether it’s retail, food, or pharma, they’re empowering business and marketplaces to offer or greatly expand their delivery offering without having to build their own fleet.”
“Nash has the team, expertise, and product to become the backbone of all local delivery across the globe, which is why we’re thrilled to have led both their Seed and Series A.”
Gophr
In August, Eve departed last mile delivery venture, Gophr, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer.
Eve commented at the time: “End of a chapter! Last week was my last at Gophr. A big thanks to Seb Robert (CEO and Founder) and the team and wishing everyone there great future success.”
He added: “I am now going to enjoy a bit of summer with my family and will be back in mid-September.”
“As yet no firm plans so get in touch if you are working on something exciting and want to discuss.”
A Gophr spokesperson told RTIH: “While there is no initial plan to replace Patrick (who we obviously wish all the best in his future endeavours), Thomas Bradford was recently appointed as VP of Engineering.”
“This is all part of our plan to increasingly focus on automation supported by investment in tech and engineering - placing it as a market leader for smart delivery solutions.”
