Apotek Hjärtat inks automation solutions deal with GreyOrange
Swedish pharmacy Apotek Hjärtat is partnering with GreyOrange to develop automation solutions for its new 20,000 square metre e-commerce warehouse that will open in September in Norrköping.
“Through the collaboration, we continue to automate our logistics flows and thereby lay the foundation for the next generation of e-commerce offering,” says Eric Lundberg, CEO at Apotek Hjärtat.
“We have chosen GreyOrange because it is an innovative and exciting company that is at the forefront of technology and that is exactly where we want to be to give our customers a world class customer experience. The solution that we will look at will be the first in the Nordic region.”
“We are proud to collaborate with another of Europe's leading companies,” says Samay Kohli, CEO at GreyOrange.
“Apotek Hjärtat is already successful, but with our automation solution, even better conditions are created for growth in the long run. Our solution is well prepared for the challenge of living up to Apotek Hjärtat's high-set quality goals and it will help it increase efficiency.”
Funding round
In May, Blackrock Capital Group and Mithril Capital Management Group announced a $110 million investment in GreyOrange.
GreyOrange, which works with the likes of Walmart and H&M, said it would use the cash to “accelerate the company’s technology leadership, continue our global expansion and further support the adoption of our platform in warehouses, distribution centres and retail stores”.
The funding came four years after a $140 million Series C round that brought the US-based company’s raise to $170 million.
“GreyOrange is trusted by the biggest names in retail to help them do what they do best, better,” said Ajay Royan, Managing General Partner at Mithril Capital Management.
“Demand for its omnichannel fulfilment platform continued to increase consistent with our high expectations as retailers come to terms with the immediate necessity of robotic automation in fulfilment.”
“We are particularly excited about the expansion underway with GreyOrange’s SaaS applications, such as gStore, which deliver new and innovative supply chain solutions to discerning consumers across the customer base.”
