Ten video games competing for the monthly top ranking at the Game Development World Championship

The GDWC or Game Development World Championship is over, and game developers did the best they could to win the prestigious spot at the top.

Games like these may not make their way to gaming sites like casino online GGBET, but they surely will have a following soon. Below are the top ten games that competed for the top position.

1. Two Falls by Unreliable Narrators

This game bagged the top spot. It is a narrative driven game where you get to experience the life of Jeanne. She is a shipwrecked girl who came from the French colonies. There is another character named Maikan, who was forced to leave her home.

The setting is in the 17th century in Canada, and you will have the option to make choices on behalf of these characters. The choices you make will shape the game and what will happen to the characters.

2. Backpack Hero by Jaspel

A fun game, the aim is to collect rare items and organise them in your backpack. You will have the opportunity to go to dungeons and fight enemies.

The game is now available on Steam. Take note that this game is pixelated, like games in the 1980s. What makes it different is that it is not the rare items that give you a boost but how you organise these items.

3. Online Multiplayer Photorealistic Metaverse by Cognac

Simply called COGNAC, the game is something like an open world, but it uses real-life environments. It is an online TDM game, which stands for team deathmatch.

COGNAC is the first of its kind. To understand what it is, one should think of PUBG or Fortnite, but then imagine that the environment is realistic, not 3D. Because of this, the game is as close to virtual reality as it could be.

4. Sclash by Bevel Baker

Sclash is a 2D fighting game, the lead character of which is a samurai. Your role as a player is to take the mantle of a trained samurai.

Like other fighting games, you must manage your stamina and use strategy. This is not a hack-and-slash game. You need to plan your hits and make a one-hit kill. If you miss, you get hit, and your character will die.

5. Scarlet Hollow by Black Tabby Game

An award-winning game, Scarlet Hollow is set in coal mines that had been sealed off after a deadly collapse. There are strange creatures that wreak havoc across the land, and these same creatures prey on the inhabitants’ livestock.

The first release has seven episodes, and they are adding three more. It is available on Steam, and your job is to make decisions that will take the community to safety. You must build relationships with NPCs.

6. The Occultist by Pentakill Studios

The Occultist is a horror game where the protagonist, Alan Rebels, goes to a cursed island called Godstone. His job is to investigate the disappearance of his father. It is a first person narrative horror game, which is similar to Resident Evil.

7. Redemption of the Damned by MiroWin Studio

This one is a survival horror game set in 17th century Europe. Your character is that of a field doctor’s assistant.

You are headed towards a village, and your job is to help the local peasants. The problem is that you get attacked and left for dead. You wake up in a mass grave, and you must find your way to safety.

8. A World of Little Legends by Artimu

Now available on Steam, this game takes the player back to the 1990s.

Despite this time setting, the game is an open world, and it offers crafting mechanics. In the game, the fair comes to your town, but then there is a strange stall that traps you inside a magical snow globe.

Your job is to build yourself a new life, a cozy farm, and ultimately, find a way to get out. It is a pixelated game, and nothing much is to be expected from the graphics. If you play this game, you must focus on the storyline and the strategy, not the graphics.

9. Hitori Kakurenbo Online by Infinite Thread Games

This game is a social multiplayer where you participate in a Japanese ritual. Your role is that of an evil doll.

The good news is that if you do not want to play this role, you can choose to be an irresponsible teenager. You can interchange doll parts if you want. If you do, you will make a terrifying character.

10. One Last Breath by Moonatic Studios

The last entry that made it to the top ten is about a story of hope and despair. The earth is in post-apocalyptic status, and your mission as a player is to restore it back to life.

You are Gaia, a powerful being born from the last breath of the earth. You must use your abilities to escape enemies and creatures and ultimately bring the earth back to its original glory.
