Friendly Express launches holiday giveaways on mobile app powered by Rovertown technology
Friendly Express, a US convenience retailer with nearly 40 locations across southeast Georgia. is gearing up to dish out a series of holiday season customer giveaways, powered by its mobile app which was built in partnership with Rovertown and is supported by Velocity Logic’s Express Rewards platform.
Beginning 1st December, customers can unwrap a new prize every day for the first 12 days of December.
Later in the month, Friendly Express will roll-out a week of year long giveaways, offering customers the opportunity to win the likes of coffee for a year and pizza for a year.
“Our goal this holiday season is to give back to the communities we serve and bring fun, exciting rewards to our loyal customers,” says Gabe Manning, Director of Operations at Friendly Express. “By using the Friendly Express app, customers can unwrap something special all month long.”
Redesign
In September, Friendly Express launched a redesigned mobile app.
“We have always been about putting our customers first,” said Manning. “Our new app helps us serve them better by combining the tools they expect, like mobile pay and delivery, with the experience and hospitality they’ve come to love in our stores.”
The app includes an interactive layer with gamified features designed to keep users coming back. The Friendly Arcade offers a rotating selection of games where guests earn coins redeemable for the likes of pizza, and fountain drinks. A separate Scratch & Win game provides daily opportunities to instantly win prizes.
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
Mobile retail was a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
