Amazon green lights pay by hand project
Amazon is working on an initiative that would let customers link their credit card information to their hands.
This would enable them to scan for purchases with their palms at in-store checkouts, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The article states that Amazon is working with Visa on testing out the terminals. It has also discussed the project, said to be in the early stages, with Mastercard, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Synchrony Financial.
Last year, we reported on Amazon testing out biometric payment tech that it planned to roll-out to Whole Foods stores by 2020. The e-commerce giant is also looking to expand its cashierless Amazon Go stores and Amazon Pay service.
