AMC Theatres considers adding Shiba Inu to crypto payments mix
American cinema giant AMC Theatres is currently updating its technology infrastructure to allow customers to pay online for gift cards with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin.
And there could be more to come.
In a Twitter post, Adam Aron, the company's CEO, asked if there was interest in also paying with Shiba Inu.
At the time of writing, almost 145,000 votes had been cast, with approximately 81% of people choosing "Yes."
Dogecoin
The option to purchase gift cards with cryptocurrencies is enabled through BitPay.
In a tweet last month, Aron shone a light on Dogecoin.
He had previously hinted that AMC would include it in the list of accepted cryptocurrencies by the end of 2021.
Aron had conducted a poll on Twitter, asking whether his company should get onboard.
“It’s clear that you think AMC should accept Dogecoin. Now we need to figure out how to do that. Stay tuned,” he said at the time.
