Lewis Hamilton and bulldog Roscoe celebrate end of F1 season in new Zapp ad

Rapid grocery delivery firm Zapp’s new social advert sees seven time Formula 1 world champion and Zapp investor, Lewis Hamilton, video calling his ten year old bulldog, Roscoe to let him know he’ll be home from driving a fast car around in circles a day earlier than planned and that he shouldn’t make a fuss.

Roscoe, however, has other ideas. After a disappointed glance at the lack of food in the fridge and ropey decorations in an old box, he dons a pair of reading glasses to place an order on Zapp.

The latter delivers a vegan spread and party decorations in minutes. The delivery driver is slightly confused when he realises the order was placed by a dog (as you would be) who sits patiently in the doorway.

The advert closes with Hamilton arriving home to a ‘Welcome Home’ banner and the aforementioned vegan spread.

We’re left presuming this isn’t the first time Roscoe has gone above and beyond for his master and Hamilton says it’s the ‘best party ever’. And we also get Zapp’s tagline: ‘Delivering life’s moments 24/7.’

The advert is seen as a collaborative Instagram post between Zapp and Roscoe. The latter has 673,000 followers (which, according to a press release, is impressive). The ad will also air on Lewis Hamilton’s own Instagram.

Uber Eats

Last week, Uber Eats and Zapp announced a quick commerce partnership.

Customers across central London using Uber Eats will now be able to order from Zapp’s catalogue of around 2,000 products.

Each order will be picked and packed from the nearest ‘Zappstore’ for delivery within as little as 20 minutes, 24/7.

Zapp said that this made it one of the only convenience retailers available on Uber Eats night and day.

Ajay Lakhwani, Chief Commercial Officer at Zapp, said: “By partnering with Uber Eats, it’s great to be reaching even more Londoners as we further our mission to delight customers with things that make them happy, the moment they want it.”

“Whether it’s hosting spontaneous drinks, snacks from the sofa, getting everyday essentials or even last-minute gifts, customers can order Zapp on Uber Eats for delivery in minutes, 24/7.”

Alex Troughton, Head of Commerce at Uber Eats UK, commented: “We’re excited to partner with Zapp to offer round the clock convenience as one of the few 24/7 retailers on the platform.”

“We know that more and more customers are using Uber Eats to order those ‘need it now’ items and will enjoy shopping Zapp’s curated and premium catalogue.”

“From vintage wine and Italian delicatessen food, to Daylesford farm produce and household brands like Apple and Bamford, it brings something truly different to Uber Eats.”
