Poll 77 changes for OSRS

Small changes can go a long way, which is what Poll 77 is all about.

Even though Poll 77 is heavily focused on quality of life improvements, some will help you progress faster and get closer to your skill and OSRS GP goals.

Some changes modify the drop rates of specific items, but they will only slightly affect how much OSRS gold you'll earn since the modifications of the drop rates concern collection items.

Most of the changes polled in Poll 77 are more likely to save you time or provide an alternative to how things worked before this update rather than directly affecting your OSRS GP. The exception to this comes in a modification brought to the recipe of the anti- venom+, which could save you OSRS gold.

Increased drop rates

Two questions from Poll 77 regarding drop rates have passed, and now you'll spend less time obtaining two untradeables: the Jar of Darkness from Skotizo and the Stale Baguette. Both of the items are uniques that appear in your collection log.

Jar of Darkness

The Jar of Darkness is an item you can obtain from Skotizo at a 1 in 200 drop rate.

This was increased from previously 1 in 2500. It currently costs about 7 mils OSRS GP, but with the increased drop rate, the price is likely to drop slightly. It can be used in the Boss Layer in the Achievement Gallery within the player owned house, unlocking a collection log entry upon drop.

Because Skotizo is a sporadic boss which you can only encounter by using a Dark Totem in the middle of the Catacombs of Kouren, the time you'd need to obtain enough totem pieces to face the boss enough times to drop it is huge.

This means that even with the drastically increased drop rate, you'll need to grind for a very long time to unlock it in the collection log unless you have a ton of luck. The change makes the grind more doable rather than close to impossible.

Stale Baguette

You can wield this cosmetic item in the weapon slot. Its stats make it unusable in a combat scenario, but it is used in fashionscape and role-playing.

You can obtain it from two random events: by opening the mystery box rewarded by the Quiz Master, or it has a chance of being given by the Sandwich Lady when she offers you a baguette. While the drop rate from the mystery box has not been altered, the drop rate from the sandwich lady has been increased.

This is because she will only occasionally offer a baguette, and in a way, this resembles how you have to get the totem pieces for Skotizo before getting the chance to kill him and drop one of his uniques.

If you're trying to unlock your collection log, the stale baguette is also something to look for, and it costs around 600k OSRS GP. The change might decrease its price.

Player owned house storage

Building a player owned house is always a great idea because it will ultimately increase your quality of life with features such as the Portal Chamber or Portal Nexus. This will provide infinite teleports to various locations once the initial cost has been paid.

While you can benefit from these for free by visiting any player-owned house made public by its owner, in a party house world, such as 330, there is one massive quality of life you'll get from owning and upgrading your own house.

This huge advantage is that it serves as an extra bank where you can store some of the items you use more rarely, and therefore free a lot of space in your bank. Consider paying OSRS GP for extra slots in the bank.

Sadly, you can store only some items in a player owned house. Still, with poll 77, Jagex is freeing up more bank space for you by allowing you to store a few extra items in your player owned house: the mining gloves of any tier in the armour case and the fish sack barrel in your magic wardrobe.

Anti-Venom+

Last but not least, the recipe for the Anti-venom+ has been altered.

This is because sometimes players use their Torstol on Vials of Water and then become unable to create Anti-venom+ as the recipe used to only be with the Torstol as is rather than the usual two-step recipe with the Torstol unfinished pot.

This could be extremely frustrating, especially for ironman players with OSRS accounts for sale. Now that the Anti-venom+ recipe has been altered, you can now create Anti-venom+ pots both the old way with the Torstol and from the unfinished Torstol pot.

This will prevent the unfinished potion from selling for less OSRS GP than the herb and help you save OSRS gold by not having to sell than buy your ingredients if you messed up or bought the formerly wrong ingredient in the first place.
