Target ramps up Shipt service

By the 2018 holiday season, Target will offer same day delivery via Shipt in around 180 markets, reaching almost 65% of US households. So said CEO Brian Cornell at Shoptalk, which is taking place this week in Las Vegas.

The $550 million Shipt acquisition is part of Target’s push to compete against Amazon. To use the service, customers pay $99 annually for an unlimited number of deliveries. Orders of $35 or more are free as part of that subscription while those who place smaller orders stump up $7.
