RTIH Innovation Awards: Payments shortlist announced
RTIH is pleased to announce the shortlists for its first ever Innovation Awards.
There are seven categories in all. We have already revealed the shortlists for Bricks and Mortar Innovation and Supply Chain Innovation. And today it’s time to lift the lid on the Payments Innovation category. Runners and riders as follows:
Amazon
Amazon is testing out biometric payment tech that it plans to roll-out to Whole Foods stores by early next year.
FamilyMart
Japanese retailer FamilyMart has partnered with Panasonic to test out a next-generation convenience store in Yokohama, south of Tokyo.
Kroger
The Kroger Co. has introduced Kroger Pay, a mobile payment solution that combines shoppers’ payment information with loyalty cards and promotions. Available in the retailer’s app, it generates a QR code that can be scanned at traditional checkouts as well as self-checkout stations.
Klarna
Klarna has this year launched pop-up stores in London and Manchester.
American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa
American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa have rolled out interoperable one-click checkouts at select e-commerce sites in the US.
Decathlon
Decathlon has deployed MishiPay’s mobile self-checkout solution across its stores in the Netherlands, starting with Rotterdam Alexandrium and Eindhoven.
It’s now over to our judges who will decide the winner, to be announced during December.
