Tryd Essentials delivery service goes live in London

UK startup Tryd has launched Essentials, an online shop that provides such basic essentials as tinned food and toilet roll.

Both same day and nominated day delivery are available, with the venture using a e-cargo bike network throughout London. Check out the store here.

Earlier this year, RTIH interviewed Erkut Ozer, Co-Founder of Tryd, for our Startup Stories section. 

“Tyrd started as an idea by myself in early 2018. The idea came when I was visiting the post office,” he said. 

“Noticing the number of people queueing to return clothes bought from the many online high street retailers, I posed the question; How do we reduce the amount of returns for retailers and still allow consumers the choice of online purchases?”

The company has been in conversations with many of the major high street fashion retailers, who are looking to provide their customer base with a same day delivery and try before you buy service, he added.

“Retailers are excited about the returns aspect of Tryd. A concern for many retailers is the time it takes for items to get back into inventory when they are returned. We help to address this issue.”
