Deichmann Group deploys Targomo location intelligence platform

European shoe retailer, Deichmann Group, has rolled out Targomo technology in Germany. 

The company, which has a presence in 30 countries with chains such as Deichmann, vanHaren and Rack Room Shoes, has selected AI powered location analytics platform TargomoLOOP for a pilot project supporting its site selection in Germany, where Deichmann operates more than 1,400 stores.

Netflix partners with Shopify for online store launch

Amazon recently made a major move from retail to streaming, when it announced a deal to buy MGM, and now Netflix has gone in the opposite direction.

Netflix already has licensing deals for hundreds of products based on its original programming, sold by the likes of Target, Walmart, Amazon, H&M, and Sephora.

And it has now launched Netflix.shop, initially in the United States, with a view to rolling it out to international markets in the coming months.

Tesco makes on-demand grocery delivery move with Whoosh service

Tesco is testing out a new rapid delivery service, Whoosh, at an Express store in Wolverhampton.

Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland has partnered with Manna for a drone delivery service in Oranmore, Galway.

This is pitched as the largest commercial drone delivery trial of its kind in the world, with plans for further roll-out to Irish towns in the coming months.

Very.co.uk AI chatbot becomes dominant customer service channel

Very Assistant, Very.co.uk’s artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, has become the pureplay’s largest customer service channel.

Previously only available via the app, it now answers 268,000 customer queries a month, having been launched on the Very website in September 2020.

boohoo enlists Astound Commerce for Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Burton websites launch

Online fashion retailer boohoo has launched recently acquired brands Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton on its e-commerce platform in partnership Astound Commerce. 

UEFA and AntChain bring blockchain tech to Euro 2021

UEFA and AntChain, Ant Group’s blockchain business, have announced a five-year partnership.

Ant Group is the FinTech arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group.

The aim of the UEFA/AntChain tie up is to explore how blockchain technology can be used to further football’s digital transformation efforts and improve the experiences of fans around the world.

Under the agreement, AntChain will become the official global blockchain partner of UEFA Euro 2020, which kicks off tomorrow, and also the 2024 event.
