Nordstrom tech exec Edmond Mesrobian is leaving the company

Nordstrom Chief Technology and Information Officer Edmond Mesrobian will this week step down from his position, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The retailer is currently searching for his replacement.

Mesrobian joined Nordstrom from Tesco in 2018, taking on a role that had been vacant for over a year.

Highlights of his time at the company included overseeing a restructuring of its technology team, with the aim of leveraging AI to boost the customer experience.

“We’re grateful to Edmond for his leadership and many contributions to our business, employees and customers,” CEO Erik Nordstrom said in a memo to employees.

“He has led a step change improvement in our technology, data and product capabilities, and it’s clear that we’re in a much better place today than we were before he arrived.”

“He has been a key contributor in building the architecture, infrastructure and resiliency needed for us to be a digital-first company and realise our Closer to You strategy.”
