Quick commerce big hitter Getir surpasses 500,000 meal donation milestone

Rapid grocery delivery firm, Getir, has reached a milestone of over 500,000 donated meals from its gstores.

This has been orchestrated by the Neighbourly platform, which serves some of the world’s biggest companies and supports thousands of local good causes.

In total, 234 tonnes of food have been donated to 308 local causes, 868 tonnes of Co2 have been saved, and there has been an overall financial impact of £1,037,739.

The whole Getir estate is live on said platform providing charities and community organisations with food donations.

Since joining forces with Neighbourly, Getir has donated 572,400 meals to 308 charities.

Kristof Van Beveren, UK General Manager, Getir, says: “Local communities are incredibly important to us, and we want to do our bit to support them. We pride ourselves on being a company that is an active, visible, and valuable member of the towns and cities where our service exists.”

“This is more important than ever now as families face uncertainties and challenges with the cost of living and where we can, we will step up to offer help to those in need.”

Steve Butterworth, CEO at Neighbourly, says: “We are delighted to be working with Getir on their surplus food programme which is donating quality food to local organisations on a daily basis.”

“Getir is genuinely striving to create positive social and environmental change in the communities where they operate and 500,000 meals is a considerable milestone.”

“Those meals will have made a huge difference for families that are struggling with the devastating rise in energy bills and cost of household essentials."
