Screwfix onboard as Gophr launches delivery service for DIY and construction sectors

On demand delivery firm Gophr has launched Gophr Trades, a delivery service for the construction and DIY industries.

This is designed specifically to meet the needs of individual tradespeople as well as larger construction and related trade businesses. Founding clients include Screwfix and Rexel.

The offering is supported by an integration with the geocode system what3words.

Graham Smith, Strategic Account Director at Gophr, says: “The grocery sector has captured much of the conversation when it comes to same day and rapid delivery.”

“Armed with our experience in this as well as a range of other industries, we identified a need early on in construction for a similarly efficient approach.”

“We have taken the time to understand this complex sector and Gophr Trades has been carefully formulated to address its very specific dynamics, leading to greater efficiency, more jobs and ultimately more happy customers.”

Last mile delivery specialist Nash has appointed Patrick Eve as Head of UK - Sales.

In a LinkedIn post, Eve said: “New beginnings! I am really excited to start my new role at Nash. I will be launching its UK operations after a very successful launch in the US amd Canada 18 months ago.”

He added: “Nash is already live in over 95 cities in the US, Canada and Australia with more than 200 carrier partners available on the platform, helping businesses of all types to offer local and reliable same-day delivery services to their customers.

“Thanks to Co-fouder and CEO Mahmoud Ghulman and all the team for the warm welcome and I am looking forward to getting started!”

In August, Eve departed Gophr, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer.

Eve commented at the time: “End of a chapter! Last week was my last at Gophr. A big thanks to Seb Robert (CEO and Founder) and the team and wishing everyone there great future success.”

He added: “I am now going to enjoy a bit of summer with my family and will be back in mid-September.”

“As yet no firm plans so get in touch if you are working on something exciting and want to discuss.”

A Gophr spokesperson told RTIH: “While there is no initial plan to replace Patrick (who we obviously wish all the best in his future endeavours), Thomas Bradford was recently appointed as VP of Engineering.”

“This is all part of our plan to increasingly focus on automation supported by investment in tech and engineering - placing it as a market leader for smart delivery solutions.”
