Mad for it: QR codes deployed for Amazon Fresh Wembley store transformation as Oasis hit London for reunion tour

Britpop legends Oasis are currently in the midst of a heavily hyped reunion tour which recently saw them give sold out performances at Wembley Stadium.

Amazon Fresh Wembley has undergone a major store transformation for this.

In a LinkedIn post, Maddy Mottram, In-store Marketing Manager at Amazon Fresh UK, said: “We’re mad for it! I'm thrilled to share our biggest store transformation yet! We've partnered with Amazon Music to bring the legendary spirit of Oasis to Amazon Fresh Wembley for a full store takeover.”

Customers were able to scan QR codes in-store that took them directly to the Home of Oasis on Amazon.co.uk.

Mottram added: “A big thank you to all stakeholders at Amazon Fresh and Amazon Music on bringing this activation to life.”

InPost UK and WMX

InPost UK recently announced a partnership with Warner Music Group’s WMX involving what is pitched as a first of its kind concert merchandise experience, beginning with fans attending the Oasis Live ‘25 tour.

Marking InPost’s first move into the live entertainment space, this will see the introduction of fan merchandise Drop Shops across all 17 UK Oasis Live ’25 dates this summer, covering over 1.4 million concertgoers.

Located at the Fan Stores and stadiums in key cities, these Drop Shops will allow fans to shop official merchandise on-site and then send their items to an InPost point or directly to their home.

InPost will also be the official merchandise delivery partner for the Oasis Live ’25 e-commerce store. This is also the first move by WMX to utilise locker-based delivery. Plans are afoot to extend this to further Warner Music Group events.

For InPost app users, an exclusive fan offering will also be launched as part of the partnership, offering people the chance to win tour experiences.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Physical stores will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards. which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
