Patchworks promises retailers next level data driven intelligence with new BI solution
Patchworks has launched a new BI (business intelligence) solution, Patchworks BI.
Patchworks BI is a fully hosted Reporting as a Service (RaaS) solution, that aggregates data already flowing between e-commerce systems such as Adobe Commerce, commercetools, BigCommerce, Shopify or WooCommerce and back office systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and Peoplevox.
It is built upon the Microsoft Power BI platform with data hosted in a cloud-based data warehouse.
Jim Herbert, CEO and Founder at Patchworks, says: “Retailers know they need to be able to make intelligent retail decisions based on their data to evolve and compete in a rapidly changing retail landscape.”
“Patchworks BI offers customers new perspectives to customer data and external influences, which couldn’t matter more right now in this economy. This insight allows retailers to be truly dynamic, to deliver for customers’ evolving expectations and to make quick and informed decisions that impact the bottom line.”
“We’re constantly innovating, using our customer feedback, to be a step ahead of what today’s businesses really need. On a daily basis, brands that have access to this layer of business intelligence to optimise operations and customer experience can boost sales, basket sizes, repeat orders and more.”
The new product is part of a wider strategy to develop e-commerce solutions and follows the company’s recent Stockr unified stock management service.
Jim Herbert
Patchworks appointed Jim Herbert as CEO at the tail end of last year.
He joined from his position as SVP and General Manager EMEA at BigCommerce.
Patchworks works with over 200 e-commerce brands in the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia including Huel, Gymshark, and Lounge Underwear.
Bringing over 20 years of e-commerce and digital transformation experience, Herbert started out as a developer and solutions architect on digital transformation projects, with a stint as a CTO, before co-founding Sceneric, an e-commerce systems integrators.
He has held leadership positions at businesses including Digitas, Zetman, AyataCommerce and Greenlight Commerce and been a Council Member of the MACH Alliance.
He took over over from Patchworks’ founder, David Wiltshire, who said in a LinkedIn post: “I’m not retiring and have not sold out! I am going to focus within Patchworks on innovation, partnerships and new markets which are my strengths.”
The company also appointed Neil Kuschel, CEO Europe at Global-e, as non-executive director.
“It’s a pivotal moment for us as we take Patchworks to the next level,” said Simon Drane, Chairman at Patchworks.
“Jim’s blend of expertise in e-commerce, business transformation and international development from BigCommerce will be crucial as we enter the next phase of European and global expansion.”
“These strategic appointments further develop Patchworks at a time of outstanding growth and continued support and investment from Gresham House Ventures.”
“His consultative customer approach coupled with real technical depth and substance will help to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.”
“To have Neil join the board also is an outstanding result for us. It is a testament to Patchworks, our clients and the team that we can attract such impressive expertise – we’re delighted to have them both onboard.”
Herbert commented: “With such phenomenal success over the last year in particular, it’s an exciting time to be joining Patchworks.”
“I’m looking forward to working with and continuing to build a thriving team to enable merchants to succeed online, using Patchworks to rapidly deploy innovative integrations to sell more quickly.”
Kuschel said: “Having worked closely with Patchworks through our many shared brands, it’s clear the huge value they bring. Being part of the team means being a part of the Patchworks journey and I’m excited to see what’s next.”
