Chief Financial Officer Thomas Børglum Jensen says farewell to Bestseller after eight year run at Danish retailer

Thomas Børglum Jensen is leaving Bestseller where he has spent the past eight years, joining as Chief Financial Officer & Head of Logistics, before becoming CFO.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: “Thank you Bestseller and farewell - after eight fantastic years my last day will be 31st August Thank you Anders Holch Povlsen (and your family) for providing me the opportunity of joining Bestseller - you could have chosen a world class CFO eight years ago and decided instead to provide the chance to somebody eager to learn a new industry and develop into a CFO.”

He added: “We have shared unforgettable moments - we have celebrated incredible successes - we have been through unforeseen challenges and tough times - always shoulder to shoulder. A special thank you goes to my team and colleagues in the CFO area - Service & Facilities - Data & Analytics - E-commerce - Finance - and the special bond to Logistics - it has been an absolute privilege to work with you.”

“We (read: you) have achieved things most thought were impossible - it has never been easy - it has however been a lot of fun - you can be very proud of the performance and the way you have been living the founding principles of the company - world class. The potential to do even better is always there and you will achieve even greater things with a new CFO, with me cheering on the sideline.”

“Thank you to customers, suppliers, partners and industry friends - I have learned a lot from our dialogues and have tried to repay your engagement with a true desire to find win-win solutions. Bestseller colleagues and friends - thank you - having had the opportunity to work with every corner of the company has been incredible.”

Jensen concluded: “Leaving a great company and defining what to do next is humbling - and then the energy from Bestseller learnings, experiences and relations luckily counter some of the butterflies. Next chapter - building on the times with some of the best entrepreneurs - will be focused investments, entrepreneurship and scaling businesses. See you out there.”

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Logistics technology will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards. which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
