Five more years: SquareTrade announces new purchase protection programme with MediaMarkt Iberia

SquareTrade, a provider of extended warranty and insurance plans, has signed a five-year contract extension and expansion with MediaMarkt Iberia, a consumer electronics retailer in Europe. 

After five years working together, the agreement will see SquareTrade providing and managing insurance programmes for all MediaMarkt’s product categories (it began with mobile phones back in 2018).

“By providing insurance plans and extended warranties, we can maintain ongoing relationships with our customers long after they leave our stores. They are a strategic point of difference for us while adding value to our customers’ MediaMarkt experience.”   

SquareTrade is launching five new products ranging from accidental damage to theft and extended warranty products. These will be available across all 108 stores as well as online purchases. 

Changes include removing excess fees, a repair first approach to make the claims process better for customers and the environment, as well as baking in additional benefits like compensation for food loss or laundry services.
