Local commerce specialist Wolt now lets customers order from two different places at once, with one delivery fee
Finnish food delivery and technology company Wolt has announced the launch of Double Order, a feature that allows customers to order from two restaurants or stores at the same time with one delivery fee.
Kaisa Salakka, VP Consumer Product, Wolt, says: “Let's face it, we've all been there. Whether your taste buds are torn between pizza and doughnuts, or you fancy sushi but need to do the weekly grocery shop, now you can have both while paying one delivery fee.”
Customers can place their first order as usual.
After tapping the 'add more for less' button at the bottom of the app screen, the Wolt app suggests nearby additional stores, ranging from restaurants and groceries to pharmacies and pet supplies, which can be bundled into the first order.
The new feature builds on earlier tests in Helsinki, Finland, and will be rolled out to more Wolt cities across other countries soon.
Here’s how it works:
The first order is placed as usual and then the app suggests nearby restaurants or stores that can be added to the order.
The customer has ten minutes to add more products to the original order, for example flowers or groceries from a nearby store to go with the original pizza order.
There is only one delivery fee for the second order. Additionally, there is no order minimum.
Wolt Ads
Wolt recently announced the launch of its own advertising service, Wolt Ads.
Following a beta period, the company is now looking to scale this across its 27 markets.
“We’re delighted to be able to introduce Wolt Ads to more partners. Over the past months, we’ve seen our partners record significant growth in their sales and return on advertising spend,” says Catalina Salazar, Global Head at Wolt Ads.
“While it’s still very early for us in this area, the initial results and feedback from our partners are extremely encouraging and give us confidence that we’re on the right track.”
Wolt, which was acquired by DoorDash in 2022, currently has over 36 million registered users across 27 markets and over 500 cities.
