E-commerce technology veteran Fabian Wesner joins SCAYLE as Managing Director Customer Success
Digital commerce specialist SCAYLE has appointed Fabian Wesner as Managing Director Customer Success. He succeeds René Dalock, who is leaving the company at the end of April.
As Global CTO at Rocket Internet, Wesner was responsible for global tech projects and the e-commerce platform that powers online shops such as Dafiti, Jabong, and Zalora, from 2009 to 2011.
As CTO at Project A, he set up the tech stacks and launched online shops for several companies between 2011 and 2014, including Contorion, Tirendo, and Nu3. Afterward, he became CTO of the commerce platform Spryker before co-founding the feature-as-a-service startup ROQ Technology in 2020, advising enterprise companies on e-commerce innovations and platform migrations.
He says: "It was immediately clear to me that I wanted to drive the future of digital commerce with SCAYLE. SCAYLE is designed for innovation and growth, eliminating the need for enterprise companies to choose between flexibility, efficiency, and user-friendliness. I look forward to collaborating with our customers to achieve sustainable growth and set new standards for outstanding shopping experiences."
Wesner and his team will be responsible for migrating new customers to the platform and further developing projects for existing customers.
"With his extensive background in implementing global commerce and transformation projects, Fabian is the perfect addition to the team to accelerate innovation without losing sight of the big picture and current industry challenges," says Sebastian Betz, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at the ABOUT YOU Group. "Fabian's strategic focus on working closely with our customers will be a valuable driver in continuing to expand our operational excellence in the future."

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
E-commerce will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards. which will open for entries in March, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
