£1 millionThe John Lewis Partnership has announced new measures to support customers during the coronavirus outbreak.

Of particular note is a £1 million Community Support Fund to be distributed by Waitrose stores to local communities, and protected shopping time for the elderly and the vulnerable. 

70Sainsbury's is to prioritise the vulnerable and people over 70 for online deliveries amid customer stockpiling during the coronavirus outbreak. It is also expanding its Click and Collect service.

$1 billionCostco has acquired Innovel Solutions, its middle mile and final mile delivery and installation business, for $1 billion. 

4…Workers at Amazon's UK warehouses have been told to work overtime to tackle huge demand amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This despite government calls for people to restrict social contact. According to the GMB union, workers across at least four different sites now have to work compulsory overtime. National officer Mick Rix accused Amazon of putting "profit before safety".

531Carphone Warehouse is to close all its 531 standalone stores on 3rd April, resulting in 2,900 redundancies.

100,000Amazon is set to hire an additional 100,000 employees in the US as millions of people turn to online deliveries during the coronavirus outbreak.

600Dodo Pizza has opened its 600th store. This is situated in China and is its second cashless "pizzeria of the future" in Hangzhou (payments go through its app on WeChat). 

2%UK total footfall decreased by 2% in February year-on-year, below both the three and 12 month average increases of 0.8% and 0.3% respectively.
