Adyen makes coronavirus charitable donations move

PayTech giant Adyen has announced a partnership with the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO)

Its merchants can now accept charitable donations from their shoppers through Adyen Giving. Adyen will absorb the full cost of the additional transaction.

“We are all affected by the growing Covid-19 outbreak. It’s an unprecedented health challenge and requires people from all sectors to play a role in a collective solution,”  says Kate Dodson, the United Nations Foundation’s VP for Global Health.

“Donations support the WHO and partners’ work to track and understand the spread of the virus, to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.”

“The combined strengths of the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund and our technology enables the collection of donations for the fund at scale”, comments Ingo Uytdehaage, CFO at Adyen.

“The Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund is an amazing example of responding positively to a global crisis. I’m hoping we’ll see many of our merchants getting on board to support them - we’re ready.”
