Intersport taps ship from store model with OneStock tech
Intersport has deployed an order management solution (OMS) from OneStock.
The retailer says that, by having a single view of stock, it can fulfil orders from its warehouses and implement ship from store capabilities across more than 100 European stores.
This means that two thirds of online orders are now fulfilled via its bricks and mortar network.
Philippe Muhr, Director of Web to Store/E-commerce & e-CRM at Intersport, comments: “Only nine months after its implementation, our stores have truly adopted the OMS.”
“The first results are very promising, with a 200% increase in our online turnover. Ship from store complements our phygital strategy and improves the customer journey.”
ESLs
Intersport also recently rolled out Pricer’s electronic shelf labels (ESLs) across its European store estate.
The solution, which delivered around 1,000 SmartTAG HD per store, now provides instant price changes.
The ESLs also feature a QR code. Scanning the code, store associates have real-time visibility of stock, while shoppers can find out more information about the product on display, or place an order should the size or model they are looking for be sold out in-store.
Aggelos Stefanou, IT Manager at Intersport Greece, Cyprus and Balkans, says: “The huge amount of hours spent only on changing the prices, with everything from checking the prices, printing the paper labels and putting everything up in the right place was a big issue for us.”
“We realised that the employees could spend their time better serving our customers and doing other in-store tasks.”
Stefanou adds: “For us - and the whole retail industry - price management is extremely critical.”
“Today, we perform price controls every morning before the opening to ensure that the prices are up-to-date. At the same time, we now never have pricing mistakes.”
There were 10 store go lives in 2020 and there are plans to roll out the tech in additional locations.
However, this is pending retail reopening/restrictions on Covid-19 easing.
