Ottonomy.IO debuts Ottobot Yeti for unattended first and last mile deliveries and locker integration

Ottonomy.IO is this week exhibiting the Ottobot Yeti, pitched as the first autonomous delivery robot capable of unattended deliveries, at NRF 2023 in New York.

This includes an automated sliding delivery hatch that opens to deliver items without the need for human assistance.

“Over a short period of time we were able to convert feedback from multiple pilots to develop an enhanced model of the Ottobot which will facilitate improved accessibility and efficiency for robotic deliveries,” says Ritukar Vijay, CEO and Co-founder at Ottonomy.IO.

“This is especially critical for retail and e-commerce industries where there is an urgent need for the option of a completely unmanned delivery process. This also opens the door to facilitate e-commerce returns.”

Ottobot Yeti is the latest generation model of Ottobot, said to be the only autonomous robot capable of making multiple deliveries in a single trip.

Its four-drive wheel and four-steering wheels enable a zero radius turn and crab movement to navigate in tight and crowded spaces.

Funding round

Last year, Ottonomy.IO closed a seed funding round of $3.3 million, bringing its total funding to date to $4.9 million.

The round was led by Pi Ventures. Connetic Ventures and Branded Hospitality Ventures and the Founder and CEO of Addverb Technologies, Sangeet Kumar, also participated.

“Last mile delivery is the least productive, yet the most expensive part of the delivery chain. There is a strong need for automation, which Ottonomy fulfils with Ottobots,” said Roopan Aulakh, Managing Director at Pi Ventures.

“Ottobots are equipped with a sophisticated tech stack both at hardware and AI level. The founding team here brings years of multi-functional robotics experience, reflecting in the world class product that they have built and commercialised.”
