Car dealer Vospers introduces AI-based digital imaging technology to enhance online vehicle listings

Vospers has introduced new digital imaging technology at all 27 of its retailers across the South West of England, with the aim of boosting the online experience for customers and maximising the proportion of online visits that convert into tangible enquiries.

Vospers will access artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology that enables immediate and more sophisticated quality control, to present vehicle imagery in a more consistent and compelling way.

Auto Imaging, part of CitNOW Group, delivers a range of tools through an app, which provides real-time feedback on quality when creating stills, video, and 360 interior and exterior imagery, for online listings.

The app also takes care of background replacement as well as creating data-driven videos that are auto tagged with spec information relative to the vehicle.

Assets can then be uploaded to all required digital destinations including the dealer’s website(s) and third-party marketplaces such as Autotrader, decreasing ‘time to web’.

Group sales and local brand managers can instantly monitor all digital assets through the Vehicle Asset Management feature, reviewing volume, progress, and consistency, with head office also able to see imagery and give final approval remotely.

Auto Imaging is working with Vospers to train staff, monitor image accuracy, and identify when a dealer may need assistance.

Auto Imaging’s solution also offers the head office marketing team the ability to insert marketing messages into photo sequences and overlay marketing messages onto the first photo both in search results and on vehicle detail pages; this was previously a manual task that took a long time to implement and was open to user error.

“Implementing Auto Imaging’s technologies across all of our Vospers locations was seamless, thanks to the robust onboarding process,” comments Darren Bennett, Group Marketing Manager at Vospers.

“All of our teams received multiple virtual training sessions, and there will be virtual training sessions for team members who require a refresh too.”

“Our sales teams are now equipped to take better imagery, that is more consistent across the group, giving Vospers improved branded assets, and giving customers an improved user experience. Imagery arrives online quicker than before and looks more professional which we hope will help boost enquiries and ultimately used vehicle revenues for 2024, and beyond.”

Chris Gray, Managing Director at Auto Imaging, says: “Visual assets are critical to the success of online car listings and retailers are always looking at ways to improve their digital shop front.”

“In fact, our recent dealer survey revealed that almost three quarters are looking at ‘enhanced photography’ tools to boost the success of their listings.”

“We have fine-tuned our technology to optimise the breadth and quality of assets, and it’s extremely rewarding to see the outcome when businesses use automation to streamline and improve their processes.”
