Out-of-home delivery firm InPost notches up milestone as parcel locker numbers hit 7,000 in UK

InPost, an out-of-home delivery and parcel locker specialist, reports a major milestone of 7,000 lockers in the UK.

Neil Kuschel, UK CEO at InPost, comments: “We’ve seen significant demand for InPost lockers and thanks to this latest 7,000 milestone, we’ve now achieved a substantial 40% increase in locations since March last year.”

“The locker market remains extremely strong, and we want to help our retail customers capitalise on this demand.”

“Our aim is that InPost is ubiquitous and that every store has an InPost locker, and every UK consumer uses our lockers as part of their daily lives. So, this milestone is a big deal for us as it means we’re one step closer to making that happen.”

Aldi

Aldi recently tested out the use of parcel lockers outside a selection of its UK stores, including Glasgow, Liverpool, Colchester, Portsmouth, Gravesend, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Preston, Nuneaton, and Bristol.

Customers were able to collect and return online orders from other retailers at select Aldi stores, thanks to the retailer’s new partnership with InPost.

The latter’s lockers were available outside 22 Aldi stores across the country.

The trial concluded after a 12-week period, with the aim to roll it out to more stores if successful.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We are all about making things efficient for our customers, and the installation of InPost lockers will make shopping at Aldi even more convenient.”

“People can collect or return parcels while they are doing their shopping, with the lockers accessible with a QR code. If the trial is successful, this will hopefully be something available to lots more of our shoppers later this year.”
