7 million…Nike claims that nearly seven million people have visited Nikeland, its metaverse store, since it opened five months ago.
$27.7 million…Triple Whale, an analytics platform for Shopify brands, has raised $27.7 million in an extended Series A, the company’s first announced funding round since its foundation in May 2021.
10…India’s Zomato will next month begin delivering food in 10 minutes in its home city of Gurugram, in what is being pitched as an industry first. The company is calling this new service, Zomato Instant.
5 and 12…ASX listed alternative credit provider humm has announced a multi-market partnership with online retailer The Hut Group.
This will enable end consumers to pay in 5 or 12 instalments, offering up to £3,000 interest free over a maximum of 12 months.
The agreement will be rolled out across the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
£3 million…The North East Development Capital Fund (NEDCF), supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Maven Capital Partners and Gresham House Ventures, has completed a £3 million funding round for RevLifter.
$118 million…Robotic technology from GreyOrange will be used at Walmart Canada’s new $118 million sortable fulfilment centre in Rocky View County, Alberta, located just outside of Calgary.
$30 million…Cross border e-commerce payments enabler, Reach, has secured a $30 million investment.
The round was led by Vistara Growth and also included Bluesky Equities, Tribune Capital, and Rising Tide.
The capital will be used to scale up Reach’s development teams, with a focus on merchant success and onboarding, as well as expansion into new shopper geographies to help grow local acquiring networks for both merchants and partners.
£750,000…London-based mobile app startup Slip has announced a £750k pre-seed fundraise ahead of its summer launch.
Founded in 2021 by Tash Grossman and Eddy Herman, pictured above, the venture allows users to receive digital receipts via QR codes, view and manage their omnichannel spending and receive exclusive discount offers and personalised content based on their buying habits.
$5 million…Tern, a US-based startup that aims to make e-commerce returns easier for consumers, less expensive for merchants, and better for the planet, has announced its launch and partnership with online thrift and consignment store Swap.com.
This closely follows Tern’s raise of $5 million in seed funding, led by Resolute Ventures and Rajesh Ramanad with participation from Tekton Ventures, Partech Partners, OVO Group, Cyber Mentor Fund, as well as a number of angel investors.
$10 million…ShopThing, a live shopping venture focused on luxury brands, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Origin Ventures, with participation from Pritzker Group and Interplay.
38…Sports entertainment heavyweight WWE and virtual restaurants specialist Nextbite have partnered to launch a WWE themed, delivery only restaurant in the Dallas area ahead of WrestleMania 38, which takes place next Saturday, 2nd April and Sunday, 3rd April at AT&T Stadium.
WWE Smackadillas is available now via DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub, offering quesadillas that will only be on offer until 11th April.
4 and 10…The Bok Shop, a south coast-based homemade fried chicken brand, has joined forces with London sneaker boutique OffGrid to create what is pitched as a completely new retail experience at Westquay in Southampton.
This will host a bespoke limited edition sneaker display, allowing customers to dine while purchasing items from trainer experts. Evenings and weekends will also feature music led events.
The 3,700 sq ft restaurant will be The Bok Shop’s fourth, following openings in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The brand plans to roll-out 10 new sites in the next two years.
