Rituja Ravikiran Rao departs Deliveroo and key role within its grocery and retail tech teams

Rituja Ravikiran Rao has left Deliveroo where she held the role of Senior Enterprise Project Manager - Technical Integrations.

In a LinkedIn post, she said: '“After three whirlwind, intense years - I am moving on from Deliveroo. Joining the Grocery and Retail Tech teams at Roo as the founding Technical Integrations Manager, I have had some of the most life enriching experiences and have worked with some of the brightest minds in the industry.”

“I gained some groundbreaking B2B2C experience and integrated the world's largest retail giants onto the platform across the UK, France, APAC and the Middle East.”

She added that highlights have included working across international markets and in particular acting as a tech POC for one of Deliveroo’s fasting growing markets, UAE, and working on the ground with partners in Dubai, building tech solutions that served the realities of quick commerce in the retail space.

She continued: “Special call out to my time with Deliveroo Women in Tech ERG. As a co-lead, I am proud of my role in fostering this community led by purpose. There are way too many people to give shoutouts to, so I will keep it simple in saying thanks to all who've supported me in my time at Deliveroo: my WiT ERG team, DEI team and everyone across Product, Tech and Commercial teams, particularly my mentors.”

Rao wrapped things up by noting that she has been on “a funemployment break for the past month - jetting across multiple countries, seeing friends and family. I am getting ready for my next challenge. Watch this space for more!”

2024 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Quick commerce was a key focus area at the sixth edition of the RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
