Social impact firm Too Good To Go appoints Sid Baveja as VP of Operations for Central Europe, UK and Ireland

Too Good To Go, which lays claim to the world’s largest marketplace app for surplus food. has announced the appointment of Sid Baveja as its new Vice President of Operations for Central Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, and Czechia), the UK and Ireland.

Baveja brings nearly 15 years of experience in technology companies such as Just Eat Takeaway.com and viagogo, leading teams and driving growth across multiple markets. His background includes managing multi-million-euro P&Ls and delivering solutions with a focus on sustainable growth.

He comments: “I am thrilled to be joining Too Good To Go, and look forward to helping the business grow in such exciting markets. It's certainly been an exciting few months, with the launch of Too Good To Go Parcels in the UK, helping brands like Tony’s Chocolonely and Kraft Heinz avoid food waste while offering unique products to our users.”

“Additionally, our Look-Smell-Taste initiative in Ireland has gained support from iconic brands such as Guinness Food Products and Kellogg's. I'm thrilled about what we've accomplished so far and look forward to more success ahead."

Too Good To Go’s recent launch of its Parcels service in the UK provided users with a way to order surplus ambient goods from some of the UK’s top food manufacturing brands straight to their door for a reduced price.

With approximately 12 million tonnes of food wasted annually at the manufacturing stage across Europe, Too Good To Go Parcels provides a channel for food brands to manage surplus food due to fluctuations in demand, packaging changes or cosmetic standards.

2024 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Green retail was a key focus area at the sixth edition of the RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
