Low Cost Glasses makes virtual tool and payments moves

Online retailer Low Cost Glasses has launched a virtual try-on tool for customers and announced a buy now, pay later partnership with Laybuy.

Sergio Weingarten, CEO at Low Cost Glasses, which was founded last year, says: “Our new tool instantly shows you how your glasses will look – no waiting for delivery to try them on at home and no need to tackle social distancing on the high street. We are all spending so much time at home, it’s the ideal time to go online for your glasses.”

The partnership with Laybuy, meanwhile, means customers can spread the payment of their glasses over a six-week period, with weekly automatic instalments taken at no interest and with no additional fees. Google Pay and Apple Pay have also been added to the retailer’s site.

Weingarten adds: “We use online retail in almost every part of our lives – and never more than now. We’ve found that once people buy glasses online, they are so surprised and pleased with the quality and value for money that many return for a second pair.”

“Customers often ask us what our secret is, but there is no secret – with no physical shops we can pass our savings on directly to the customer. We have definitely seen that those customers who were hesitant before lockdown are giving online glasses a go and quickly being converted,” he concludes.
