Gymshark's Charlotte Rason reflects on busy 2025 as she steps into Head of Systems role

Charlotte Rason is starting a new role as Head of Systems at British multinational athletic apparel retailer Gymshark.

She has been with the company for almost two years and previously held the position of Business Systems Manager- Critical Operations & Finance.

In a LinkedIn post, she said: “Looking ahead to 2026 as I step into my promotion to Head of Systems at Gymshark at the end of what’s been a busy 2025 delivering value across the business.”

“From new store openings to moving warehouses, from legal entity changes to decoupling our online stores from our physical ones…and that’s just a fraction of the system’s work that has taken place this year. Can’t wait to see what the whole team delivers next year, it’s going to be a big year!”

New York, New York

Gymshark opened its first flagship store in the US on 13th December.

Gymshark Retail and Wholesale Director for North America Mitch Healey said: “In the entirety of Gymshark’s existence, two things have remained constant - the gym, naturally, and community. I don’t think any city in the world places as much importance on community quite like New York. So, when it came to opening our flagship here, we really wanted to honour that.”

“The store has really been designed with two things in mind. When you walk through the door,  you know immediately that you are in a Gymshark store and b) you feel the community vibe that this city is so famous for. We’ve done a lot of cool stuff in New York, but I’ll be honest, it’s all been leading to this. I cannot wait!”

This marked the second opening in the US for the company, which launched its first store in Long Island, New York, on 11th October.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Physical stores were a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

VoCoVo, Everseen, Sensei, Gander, Iceland, Olio, Trust Retail, East of England Co-op, Lekkerland SE, Poq, Mamas & Papas, Varner, Sitoo, and Zebra Technologies were among our winners this year.

We received a record number of entries and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.

For a full rundown of all of the shortlisted entries, click here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
