RTIH rounds up the stand out retail technology deals, deployments and pilots from the past seven days.

French retailer Groupe Casino is working with Shekel Brainweigh on an automated store situated at its Monoprix HQ in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, near Paris.

Autonomous checkout startup Standard has landed a new customer, the University of Houston.

The university and its dinning services partner, Chatwells Higher Education, have worked with Standard to open the first store retrofitted with checkout-free technology. Standard is partnering with Chartwells on two additional stores in North Carolina and Ontario, with more to follow.

Buy now, pay later specialist Openpay has added English football club Wolves to its merchant roster.

It becomes the second Premiership side to offer Openpay’s solution to fans, following last month’s partnership announcement with Fulham FC.

Lithuanian retailer, IKI, is to deploy Reflexis Systems workforce management technology.

The project includes the Workforce Scheduler, Time & Attendance, Employee Self-Service (ESS), Advanced Analytics & Reporting and Mobility solutions. 

As part of its Extreme Blue internship programme, IBM has collaborated with Burberry to develop a prototype system that aims to improve product traceability.

Helly Hansen has rolled out Kibo Personalization, powered by Monetate and Certona, in the US and Europe. 

Majid Al Futtaim, which owns and operates shopping malls, retail, and leisure establishments in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has launched a customer insight platform, powered by dunnhumby.

The aim is to help Carrefour and its suppliers in delivering better customer experiences and accelerating growth plans.

Kidcentral Supply has partnered with Brightpearl as it aims to deliver baby and maternity products to a widening segment of specialist and mainstream retailers, and to enhance its end-to-end customer experience.

Foot Locker has selected Adyen to manage payments both online and for its 3,100 stores in 27 markets worldwide.

Bambuser has entered into a live video shopping proof of concept agreement worth SEK 1.12 million with a “world leading home furnishing retailer”. 

French fashion retailer, Caroll International, is rolling out Openbravo's omnichannel order management system. This will allow online orders to be fulfilled and delivered from its stores.

Buymie has announced a new partnership with Irish grocery chain Dunnes Stores.

This will allow customers able to order groceries from 24 stores in the greater Dublin area and in Cork City for same-day delivery. It will be possible to book slots for as little as one hour or up to seven days in advance.

Tesco will over the coming weeks deploy a traffic light system at the entrances of some of its larger stores, enabling the grocery giant to manage the flow of customers in and out.

Following the introduction of Simbe Robotics’ autonomous robot Tally in select stores, US retailer Schnuck Markets is launching the technology in an additional 46 locations, taking the total to 62. 

The Save Mart Companies has become the first grocer in the US to partner with robot delivery venture Starship Technologies. 

Costa Coffee’s Costa Express venture will roll-out a mobile contactless ordering system across 9,000+ machines nationwide this autumn.

Buy now, pay later venture Klarna has teamed with US department store Macy’s.
