RetailEXPO research looks at online delivery in post coronavirus world
Post-Covid-19, convenience, cost and increasingly environmental considerations will be the competitive differentiators around online delivery, according to research by RetailEXPO involving 2,000 Brits.
“There is no doubting the impact Amazon Prime has had with shoppers who now expect speed and convenience of delivery as standard,” says Matt Bradley, Event Director at RetailEXPO.
“Coupled with a post-Covid-19 retail landscape, increasingly focused on e-commerce, retailers must ensure their last mile fulfilment is flawless to retain customers. As environmental concerns continue to shape retail transformation, retailers need to focus on providing environmentally friendly delivery options to enjoy a share of the ‘green pound’ too.”

Cancelled
The company behind RetailEXPO recently announced that the 2020 event would no longer go ahead.
Reed Exhibitions commented: “After monitoring the evolving situation around the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, we have made the decision to cancel RetailEXPO 2020, scheduled to take place from 29th-30th April at Olympia, London.”
“Having considered all options and given the rapidly changing environment, rescheduling for later this year is no longer feasible and so this is the best course of action for the retail industry and the communities we serve. It also reflects our desire to give everyone involved as much notice as possible,” it added.
The event will next run in April 2021. More information will be available soon on the RetailEXPO website.
